RE: Opinions on 5th wheel tailgates vs stock tailgates

I use both the factory and a 5th wheel tailgate. When we are at home I have the factory tailgate. When on the road I use the 5th wheel tailgate. Just takes a minute to switch them out. Sometimes when we are just going to go one place I don't even switch them out. I have the custom Flow 5th wheel tailgate.

RE: Rafter J won't be open--Help

Avan, All they said was that there were some other camgrounds in the area that might be open after Oct 1st but would not give me a name. It just seems strange they would be closed that soon after the Buffalo Round up. The round up is that week end. They pen the buffalo on Monday and we have to be gone on Tues./ Wed. We either change our schedule or camp across the street.

RE: Rafter J won't be open--Help

AVAN, When we called them they said Sept 30 last day--even if we were in the park we would have to leave. Might just pick one close by--sounds like the place will have plenty of room.

RE: Buying a Ford F450???

Take a look at the F350 with Tow Boss option. 430 rear gear same as the 450. The 350 will weigh about 1,000 lbs lighter than the 450. You can get the 350 with the same turning radius as the 450. The 350 with tow boss is just over 18,200 lbs. just 2,000 lbs difference with the 450. It just does not have those big breaks. It does not sit as high as the 450. I like the 450.

RE: I-10 San Antonio to Fort Stockton

There are several places to get Diesel between San Antonio and Fort stockton. About an Hour and half out of San Antonio is Juction. You will need fuel here after the hills around Kerrville. Nice place to stop. Just take the hwy 83 exit. Easy off and back on. Big truck stops on both sides of 83 at this exit. Easy to get into and out of these fuel stops. Then Sonora and Ozona all have Truck stops. There is also a couple of truck stops that are not in either of these towns. Good Luck enjoy the trip.

RE: Recent Site Issues

When coming in thru the GoodSam portal It is asking for my user name after I have signed in with email and password. When I put "rug" in the space for user name I get a message that states that user name is being used by another member and will not let me in. I have no problem coming in on RV.Net.

RE: Devil's Tower RV Parking

Why not just spend the night at the KOA there. They play the movie and you get to see the tower lit up at night.

RE: El Paso to Flagstaff

If you like a scenic drive and not much traffic. Take 1-25 north to Socorro N.M go west on 60 (be sure to stop in pie town for a piece of today's pie). Continue on 60 over to Eagar AZ. At Eagar AZ take 180 up to Holbrook AZ(I-40). I-40 to Flagstaff. Flagstaff has a portion of old route 66. Also not far to Williams AZ another strip of old route 66.

RE: RV Covers

If you can I would put it under one of the metal RV covers or ports. There are severl different designs for these. We are lucky we keep ours in a barn here on the place.

RE: metal vs. rubber valve stems for tire pressure monitors?

We have steel valve stems and have had no problems. It is best to use steel valve stems. In fact I think they say in the info sheet to use steel valve stems. The rubber ones allow the unit to move and therefore will cause leaks at the stem. Pressure Pro is the manufactor. Doran, L. & S., etc are the distributors for the system. Doran just makes it sound like they are the manufactor.

RE: fifth wheel set up

Do you want to replace the present landing gear with automatic hydraulic landing gear? Do a search for Bigfoot hydraulic levelers. What other help are you looking for if you do not want to replace your present landing gear?

RE: 2004 Hitchhiker premier

I do not own one. But if you would go to the NUWA owners forum you will get all your questions answered. You might even get someone from the factory to answer your questions. The CEO of NUWA might even answer your question. www.nuwaowners.org

RE: rear stabilizer jack ??? PLEASE HELP

Well by what you say it sounds like you have electric rear stabilizers. I would hook up electric to your camper. If you do not have 30/50 outlet just go get an adapter for 120. Hook up the electric and try it. Another thing you could try is hook up a battery charger/ use jumper cables from your TV to the batteries. Then try again.
